How we do it

Level 3
Level 3 increases the impact made in the first two levels. Everything done up to this point will be used to further integrate Engineering with the other departments. Advanced tools will be integrated. Cross-departmental processes will be analyzed, defined, documented and implemented.

Impact
The entire engineering department will be more productive
Design cycles will be decreased even more
Cost targets will be met for both products and projects
Product definitions and requirements will be more easily met, and late changes will be more easily integrated (as well as analyzed for impact prior to decision making)
Quality and productivity will increase
Warranty claims and Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) will decrease
Other departments and external partners will benefit from a tighter integration to engineering
Expected time to payback is less than one year
